MoD Prestolite 24-02-10
MOD/DE&S and Antonov are pleased to announce that Antonov, in partnership with Prestolite Electric, a major manufacturer of alternators and other electrical equipment, has been awarded a contract by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to develop a high efficiency 2-speed transmission with active clutch control, suitable for integration with a military qualified alternator. The project with a present value of £200K will run all of 2010 with Antonov as the leading partner. This development may lead to series manufacturing in limited volumes for military alternator applications in the course of 2011.
