Antonov has a long history of conducting business in China and has an extensive network of high level contacts within all of the major passenger car and commercial vehicle manufacturers. We have also built strong relationships with many key transmission component suppliers as part of our TX6 transmission development program.
In 2007, Antonov Automotive Technologies Chongqing Ltd. was founded. This is a wholly owned foreign entity, WOFE, of Antonov Plc. Located in Chongqing, AAT Chongqing is close to many of Antonov’s potential customers and key suppliers, giving us excellent access to the local automotive market and the local government regional economic development agency, COFTEC, (Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Commission).
In June of 2009, Antonov signed an agreement to form a Joint Venture Company with Chongqing Landai Industry Co., Ltd. This JV company, Chongqing EFA Transmission Co., Ltd., supported by the transmission engineering expertise of Antonov and the volume transmission manufacturing expertise of Landai, will now finalise the production development of the TX6 and launch the product to the Chinese market in 2011.
